Regulations for the Street Style Battle
"Gorilla Style Wars 2024"
1. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
·Promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
·Creative exchange between professional dancers;
·Creating conditions for the creative growth of young people;
·Engaging youth in positive creative and modern sports activities;
·Enhancing the performance skills of participants;
· Promoting street dance.
2. EVENT MANAGEMENT
Funky Dance Center 235 Mukhanov St., Apt. 69, Almaty
The overall preparation and conduct of the event are overseen by the organizing committee. The organizing committee consists of representatives from the organizer and co-organizers.
The event’s organizing committee ensures:
·Ongoing preparation for the event;
· Organization of event security;
·Management of the event’s advertising campaign;
·Technical support for the event;
·Formation of the prize fund;
·Formation of the judging panel;
·Preparation of the competition venue;
·Information support on the day of the event;
·Participation in the process of confirming event applications;
·Resolution of disputes arising during the event;
·Awarding winners and prize recipients.
The event will not be held without ensuring conditions that guarantee the safety of participants.
3. EVENT FORMAT
Gorilla Style Wars | Promo Edition: Promo activities within city festivals/events. Depending on the festival, dance activities such as battles, performances, and show-reels with invited dancers are held.
Gorilla Style Wars | Jam Edition: Preliminary round in the all styles 1v1 category open to all participants. Depending on the number of participants, 8 or 16 contestants will advance. The selected participants will compete in 1v1 battles, and the winner will receive the grand prize—a ticket to the final event in Almaty.
Gorilla Style Wars | National Selection: Preliminary round in categories chosen by the main organizers from the following: hip-hop 1v1, breaking 1v1, popping 1v1, krump 1v1, all styles 1v1. In each category, judges will select the top 8 participants, who will then compete in 1v1 battles. The winner will secure a place in the battle bracket at the final event in Almaty.
Gorilla Style Wars | International Selection Preliminary round in the categories: hip-hop 1v1, breaking 1v1, popping 1v1, krump 1v1. In each category, the top 16 participants (including those selected in the national selections) will be chosen to compete in 1v1 battles, where the winner of each category will be determined.
Duration of Rounds:
· Preliminary round: 45 seconds per participant
·Quarterfinals and Semifinals: 60 seconds per participant
·Final battles: 2 rounds of 60 seconds per participant
Gorilla Style Wars | International Final Finalists from the International Selection in all categories will form teams with a judge, representing their style (hip-hop, popping, breaking, krump). The winning style/team will be determined based on the outcome of the battles.
4. PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS
· All dancers aged 16 and older are eligible to participate.
· Participants under 18 can only participate with written permission from their parents.
· The participant’s age is determined as of the actual date of the competition.
· Participants assume all risks and responsibility for their health during the event.
· By registering on the website www.gorillastylewars.com, each participant agrees to and acknowledges the "Liability Agreement," which can be reviewed in the participant registration section.
· Participants are not allowed to compete if they are under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicants.
5. APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION
·Only dancers who have completed online registration on the website www.gorillastylewars.com are allowed to participate in the event.
6. DETERMINATION OF COMPETITION RESULTS
·The results of the event are determined by a panel of judges formed by the event organizer.

Event organizer: PE "FUNKY DANCE".
By signing this document:
- I EXPRESSLY WANT to participate in the Event; I confirm that I have reached the age of 16 years; I confirm that I am familiar with the rules of participation in the Event and fully agree to follow them and unconditionally comply with all instructions and requirements of the Event organizers during the Event;
- I undertake to never, under any circumstances, intentionally create situations that may cause harm to other participants or the Organizer during the Event;
- I KNOW that my participation in the Event involves a certain degree of risk and may result in damage to my health and/or property, health and/or property of third parties.
- I accept responsibility for my life and health throughout the duration of the Event and confirm that neither the Event organizer nor its affiliates shall be liable in the event of injury and/or accident to me. If I cause injury to any person or damage to their property, I will be solely responsible;
- I undertake not to consume alcoholic beverages, narcotic and other substances capable of causing alcoholic, narcotic and other types of intoxication or otherwise affecting my condition during the Event;
- I confirm that I am physically and mentally prepared to participate in the Event and to the possible stress and strain during the Event, I also confirm that I have no medical contraindications preventing me from participating in the Event. At the same time, I agree that the Event Organizer may not allow me to participate in the Event at any time due to failure to check my condition or safety;
- I undertake to immediately notify the Event organizer of any deterioration of my health, in case of failure to notify — to assume all risks and be fully responsible for any possible damage caused to third parties. In the event of an emergency situation due to which I require emergency medical assistance, I hereby give my consent to medical intervention;
- I express my consent to the use by the Organizer of the Event or authorized third parties for the production and use of audio recordings, video recordings and photographic materials from the Event with my participation, as well as the use of my name, image, voice, appearance, speech and biographical material for any purpose (commercial, advertising and other) in any media without limitation of the period of use.
- The Event Organizer may use, broadcast, report, display, show, display, reproduce and/or make available to the public the above materials in any media, including but not limited to radio, television, movie theaters, events, data media and the Internet. I agree that the organizer of the Event has the right to make any changes, pauses, cut out fragments or make other modifications in and with the use of materials and to use the modified materials without any restrictions. The organizer of the Event has the right to transfer the rights to use the above materials to any third parties.
- I understand and agree that I may not be named as a participant in the Event and I do not expect to receive financial gain for my appearance in materials related to the Event;
- I declare that I waive any pecuniary or other claims or demands that I may have against the organizers of the Event, the owners of the property where the Event is held and any other organizers of the Event, and against other participants who may cause me injury or other physical or mental harm. This waiver also applies to my possible heirs, guardians;
- I give my consent to the collection and processing of my personal data to the Organizer of the Event, as well as to third parties connected, both at present and in the future with the Organizer of any legal relations aimed at obtaining, storing, using and disseminating my personal data, not contrary to the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
